NEC Nijmegen – Sittard, Asian Handicap +0.25 NEC Nijmegen, Stake 4/10, odd 1.91 at Dafabet (1-1 HALF WIN)

Long history between these 2 sides, because with few exceptions they managed to be in the same league at once. When won relegated so did the other and when one promoted so did the other.

This time is different however. Sittard was promoted in 2019, while Nijmegen remained in Eerste Divisie and still struggling to promote for some time. This season will be tough for NEC to promote given the fact that they’re 12 points away from 2nd place that goes directly in Eredivisie and play off is always tough given the number of good teams involved. 

In the last 10 games Nijmegen won 5 times, drew 3 times and lost 2 times. Except the last game against Cambuur (currently 1st team in Eerste Divisie), Nijmegen scored in every single of their last 17 games. 

Sittard is also doing well in Eredivisie. With 19 points they’re in 11th place, 9 points away from the play-out spot. In the last 10 games, they managed to win 5 times, draw 2 times and lose 3 times. 

For this game, according to Dutch media they will play with a mix between 1st and second team, that’s why I don’t see value in picking them. Odds are decreasing for NEC and since they will play with the 1st team, I expect them not to lose this game and try to advance further. A draw is very likely and the outcome can be decided into extra-time. I see a very balanced game and most likely both teams will score too.
