PREVIEW: Coming after 4 consecutive defeats, Levante tries to recover not to suffer the longest losing streak of the decade. Not even when they relegated in 2015-2016 season, Levante hasn’t suffered more than 4 consecutive losses. They now have the option to recover, because Leganes is not a strong team and is beatable.
In the last 8 games played at home, Levante managed to win 5 times, Leganes twice and there has been only one draw. But worth to mention that Leganes last victory at Levante dates back in 2002, when both teams were playing in LaLiga 2 and in that year, both teams were about to relegate saving themselves in the last games.
Levante’s form at home is kind of alternative because they managed to win 5 times, draw twice and lose 3 times, against stronger teams. The only surprise loss at home was last time against Alaves, an undeserved 1-0. Other than that they scored 15 goals and received 11 having a 2.6 goals average per game at home. Another reason why I’m not going for goals on this game is because Jose Luis Gonzalez is going to be referee and he’s well known for showing a lot of cards in the game. Averaging 6 yellow cards, a possible red card would mean the game will change a lot and goals can pour. Leganes is the team that has collected most yellow cards so far from LaLiga with 3.18 cards per game, while Levante had a player sent off in the last 3 out of 7 LaLiga home games.
